On WGN last night I caught the latest offering from the nice people who brought you Herc and Xena, Legend of the Seeker.

This is your typical fantasy setting (not a bowdlerization of Classical mythology and history) with enough monomyth to get serious "Hero's journey" fans to embarrass themselves in public.

Is it great fantasy, nah, but healthy, satisfying fare. It'll fill my serial fantasy/skiffy quite nicely.

Wasn't this based on a series of Fantasy Books too? One of my coworkers was excited to see this series because he had read the books.

As I understand it, "Wizard's First Rule" by Terry Goodkind.

I looked for a copy at Half Price yesterday, and they didn't have one.
